The UNIVAC was built and invented in June,14,1951. Not only did the First UNIVAC was built it 1951 but it was no longer in use in 1958, It only went on for another 8 years.

Yes the UNIVAC was successful. The UNIVAC was made to predict what outcomes were going to happen next. That started in 1952 and was used to predict the presidential elections.

The new technology used was that the UNIVAC computers had more microseconds than normal. They increased up to 19043 microseconds. The tap speed was raised up to 12,800 per second.

The name UNIVAC came from a man named Mauchly and Eckert. The UNIVAC stands for Universal Automatic Computer. Shorter for (UNIVAC). The UNIVAC was used for the general business.

Yes the Universal Automatic Computer (UNIVAC) was user friendly. This computer was mainly used for business purposes only. So business men/women had something to work with. Other people weren't that interested with the UNIVAC because they thought that there wasn't a point in having a computer. So when business men/women around the world started using UNIVAC it got more recognized.
What level of computer knowledge did you need to be able to use it?
There wasn't a level of knowledge that you needed. It was basic knowledge, such as, turning the computer on and off, and knowing what you were suppose to do. For example if a business man/women needed something they should already have some knowledge. Personally it depends on what career based you are. If your a computer engineer you should have more knowledge than everyone. But, if your a baby sitter you wouldn't need much knowledge.

The price of the Universal Automatic Computer (UNIVAC) was close to $1,000,000. The price was really high because it was one of the first computers that was made. Therefor only people who had a lot of money were able to use the computer and or buy it. As more computers came out the price of the Universal Automatic Computer (UNIVAC) went down. Computers smaller,faster,thinner came out and the price went from $1,000,000 to around $500,000. The (UNIVAC) computer may be old now but, it's price today is now worth $7,000,000. The weight of it is 7.7 tons and or (17,000lbs). With that it also, has 5,200 vacuum tubes.
