The third generation of computers was really hard to use. The key's were too complicated to learn and use. Unlike other key's the generation key's only had one use. For example, in the generation 1 and 2 computers the keyboards were used for many things, but, the generation 3 keyboard was only compatible with one key. The 3rd generations of computers were the more powerful and were built with more advanced circuits. The first two generations of computers were proved to be very powerful, but the electric circuits were very simple. The 3rd generation computers used punch cards, which allowed humans to show their data in computer form of data. Punch cards lasted around 40-50 years. by the time the generation 2 computers were built, scientist knew that if they built a simple circuit that the computer would be not powerful but, on the other hand, when it came to building the computers like the generation 3 the circuit had to be more complex, which would allow the computer to be more powerful. Building a very powerful circuit meant that they would have to make it by hand and it would be very expensive to make.
